I think it's more trendy to be late. Everyone forgets the spoilers and no one can * it up for you. I'm only just getting into Sherlock. It's GOOOOOOOD.

Well I must be impossibly trendy then. A few months ago got really into Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers musicals (bought a lovely box set the other week) and am apparently 75 years too late.

And if that's not bad enough, there's my Buster Keaton obsession...

SunnySoCal would be so excited if the still posted on here (what happened with all that?)

I watched 'Elementary' (the US version of Sherlock with Watson as Lucy Liu) last night. Words fail me when it comes to describing how awful it was.

TO THE TV THREAD!

Ooh! Fred & Ginger or Buster Keaton?

I have to say, I was right on the ball (for once) with Sherlock. It happened to come along at a time when I had been reading my way through all the Sherlock Holmes books for the first time and for no apparent reason, so I was very excited it arrived, and I loved it.

I was very happy with that coincidence, except for that fact that people assumed my interest in the books came after the TV show.

I watched "All About Eve" (1950) yesterday. Cracking film with fantastic dialogue that completely works today. It had a record 14 Oscar nom-nom-noms, only tied by Titanic.

I introduced my flatmate to the delights of films from the late 50s and early 60s (Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn stuff etc) and now I plan to do the same to the bf. He'll be delighted :)

I love Breakfast At Tiffany's and most of the Hitchcock movies. I think old movies have a special mystique about them, and the ones from the 40s-60s are the most timeless.

There's a huge advertising board I've walked past a few times which has that "Elementary" TV series on it at the moment. I've been interested in checking it out, not because I expect it to be good - I don't - but I've had a thing for Lucy ever since she was in Charlie's Angels.

The bf came round at 7am today just to say hi to me and have some breakfast before we went to work. I apologise for being sickeningly happy. (Quite an achievement as I happen to know Misfit lives in Halifax!)

Thats only 32 miles.... Some of us drive 3 times that just to get to work, so not the most unreasonable of ideas!

Congrats on new bf by the way, surprised you hadn't mentioned it before...

Sorry. I did apologise for mentioning it again! It's just a novelty for me. I've been single for a dog's age, remember.

There was a particular pair of trousers I wanted to wear to work today, but since I lost a bit of weight they are now far too long, even with heels, and the ground is wet.

So I had a bright idea this morning, and right now I am secretly wearing braces (suspenders if you're American) underneath my jacket. I bought them in a menswear shop a couple of weeks ago as part of my costume for a 90s party, but I have to say, they work fantastically well and feel brilliant.
