How good was it to hear Simon Mayo back on Radio 1 this morning?! :D

Apparently Mark Radcliffe was on Colin Murray's show last night but I was out and can't get the listen again to work for it, but that would have been good to hear too.

It was indeed brilliant hearing Simon Mayo this morning. I only heard about half an hour, I may have to listen again.

He could come back anytime. I wish he was covering Moyles' holiday rather than Scott Mills. I don't care that he's "old", he's brilliant. Love Simon Mayo.

I would have loved it if they had got Mark and Lard back for like a week or something to fill in for Edith.

That would have been a great way to celebrate R1's birthday.

Haha, yeah bring back Slim and Shady! Or even better - American Sports Network News! "From the studio of *ahem* A. N. K. Cincinnati....."

Mark was indeed on, Colin played a classic missing words episode, and a really funny Fat Harry White. Mark said he could barely remember them. Deffo worth another listen again

Did anyone else think that the atmosphere between Chris and Simon was a little uncomfortable? Heard the show up to around 08:45 and really did think there was tension there. It seemed to kick off early on when Chris had a dig at Simon apparently refusing Chris permission to go onto his show to plug his first book (IIRC).

I Dont think chris really wanted Simon there in the studio , because as usual with chris its ME ME ME. It was really good to have simon back though. :D

If Chris didn't want him there I highly doubt he would have been there. Everyone knows Chris is a radio geek and is in his element when he can start talking about radio stuff, especially old jingles.

I didn't think it sounded uncomfortable anyway. I think Simon doesn't listen to the show and didn't get what was going on air some of the time.

If ever there was a place to use the word 'pish', that was it.

It was great fun; I didn't really sense any tension myself. I don't remember any Mayo Breakfast, so it was good to listen to the clips. It was interesting to hear that Mayo wasn't totally happy with the music he had to play, as he didn't feel groups like Cypress Hill were really right for the breakfast show, and he may well have been right. The only disappointing thing for me is that they didn't play the "The Breakfast Team are here, to put your system in shock" jingle. :)

I didn't know Radcliffe was on Colin's show! Listen Again is a great invention...

Listened to this yesterday on listen again and it was a great show.

Liked the bit where dave commented on "back in the day when we could give away a guinea pig"

That did make me chuckle
