The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

He sorts out the behind the scenes comedy bits. A lot of the funny bits on the show come from him, e.g the davina mc call parody. I'd miss him hugely, I love his one liners and his personality.

He's a massive part of the show. He's Dave and he's hilarious. I love him and would miss him a lot.

Wouldn't be the same without him. I thought that when they played that joke when jules left and they pretended it was dave.

Dave was very funny about Joss Stupid yesterday. I still want to know what fool booked her for Chris's birthday show.

Record bigwigs Yudyud, I don't think the team had any say in it at all.

You can tell by the way they really didn't want her there even before she arrived.

I didn't think it could possibly have been anyone actually on the show. I think it was appalling that the birthday show - which has become an event, albeit a silly one, still something to look forward to and enjoy - should be spoiled like that. Anyway, sorry, we don't need yet another Moan About Joss Idiot thread, so I'll just get back on topic by reiterating that Dave's contribution to the show is enormously important and whilst it could go on without him, it would be better if it didn't have to.

There was talk at the beggining that it was Chris who set the interview up, and had asked Aled if it was ok, as he didn't know what other surprices they had in store, Aled at first said it was a bad idea, then came back to Chris later and said they better do it after all !

I get the feeling that Chris really was trying to help Joss put the record straight, but when she got on air, she made it obviously plain that she was in no way going to make life easier for herself.

She'll need to take 12 months off from it all and get her feet back on the ground if she is ever to win the affection of the British Public again I feel.

*WE WERE NOT UPSET YOU WERE AND ARE JUST A SILLY STUPID GIRL JOSS* nice tits, great voice, extremely high maintenance, so nah i won't bother thanks love !

Off topic:

I thought the Joss interview was actually pretty good. Whether you like her or not, it was good to listen to. She is a bit of a headcase mind you. Chris wasn't too soft on her like he could have been and he did try to point her in the right direction several times and explained the "other" point of view. (is this the 3rd or 4th Joss discussion?)

On topic:

Dave should stay. Simple.

Agreed Dave's funny, and is required for Chris to perform at his best, as are the rest of the team, except Carrie who is not.
Since Dave's new lease of life he is far less grumpy, funny yesterday that he had invited his Mrs along but not asked the others to bring there's, nice how they all said though that there other halves were all busy except Dom who spoke the truth !

Wouldn't miss Dave so much if he left Chris' show... I would miss him in the times he is with Chappers... that's when he's at his best.

Chappers + Dave = Awful radio.

Really terrible.

It's awful, neither of them have a voice for radio.

What an awful thought - the show without Dave. :(

I agree that he is the perfect foil for Chris; the amount of times the two just chatter or bicker amongst themselves is probably staggering!

My opening post wasn't a criticism of Dave, or his presence on the show - just wondered what others thought. I did seriously question his importance a couple of years ago but reckon the show would be a sadder place without him.

Who dissed Carrie? I love her presence on the show, particularly when Chris tickles her or takes the pi*s out of her boyfriend. She's the cultured, intelligent one, gives the team some balance.

She's not "the" intelligent one at all, nor cultured. She's the bit of posh who's probably grown up wanting for nothing. Just listen to the snobbyness in her voice, she's of the "I'm better than you" ilk.

She does give the team some balance though, they're relatively normal and very entertaining and I like them, whereas she's an irritating posh bint who doesn't shut up about Chelsea, and knows nothing about being a gracious winner.

I didn't, but I will (although if "dissed" actually means "disrespected", thats not technically what I'm doing - respect has to be earned, criticising someone who hasn't done so is not disrespect). I don't like Carrie. I don't mind that she is posh, I'm quite posh myself. I don't mind that she is from a well off background - I wish I was. I don't mind that she is a bit silly and irritating and annoying - it all goes to the texture of the show. I don't like her because she is a crap sports-news reader. She makes so many mistakes. I can't help thinking that the first required qualification for a newsreader ought to be the ability to read out loud without fluffing every other line. She doesn't meet this requirement. She gets paid a hell of a lot to do a job and she does it badly. She is not alone there, but that is not the stuff respect is made of.

I refer you to Mr ballbag's thoughts on the matter

In addition I don't see that she really adds anything much-needed to the show, whereas with Dave (and to an extent Dom and Aled), the show wouldn't be the same without them.

Might that have something to do with being distracted a tad? She does genuinely get annoyed when Chris deliberately 'puts her off' in his own special way, and I think thats because she is above all a journalist and wants to remain professional. I listen to the show for just over an hour every morning and I really don't think the number of mistakes she makes is excessive. The Chelsea comments are usually made outside her bulletins.

Bit of thread drift going on here, but interesting stuff.

She's well spoken, yes. Does that make her 'snobby', or automatically of the 'I'm better than you" ilk? I think not.

She does come across as a bit snobby to me, and obviously to other people here. Even Chris has picked up on this, hence his Pims'o'clock routine that he sometimes uses.

My point is, does her (or indeed anyone elses) accent alone make her snobby? I don't agree, but if others are taking different issues into consideration, then that's another matter.

It is possible to be well-spoken and from a middle class background and not be a snob, you know. But I still say she just isn't good enough at what she does. I take the point about being distracted - but her constant mispronounciations of the same words over and over again are not caused by this - and she stumbles and fluffs all the time, not just when she is being tickled. I'm not saying get rid of her at all, but for me she is the weak link in the team. Obviously Mr Moyles disagrees or she wouldn't be there - well, he knows what he is about, so I'm not going to complain. Still don't like her though!

That's everything up to Thursday done, I'll get t[…]
