Anyone else have a smash @ radio aerobics with the yummy Aled this morning? I did. I quite enjoyed this this morning!

Can we have some more aerobics please another morning, perhaps with a quick run-through beforehand, rather than going straight into it?

Balls, I have explained this somewhere else. Have a smash = have a go!! Is everyone on here delinquents, or something ? :-)

Indeed we are, apologies for not ever hearing the phrase "have a smash @", perhaps I've become accustomed to the more popular and more widely used phrase "have a bash at". I accept my delinquent status and shall now move on.

In future, I will use the modern "have a bash at"... put it down to my "old age", and not being down with tha' kids. :-)

It was a combination of the word "smash" the "@" and the smiley face at the end of every post.

May I ask you how old you are Viv?

I am 39 years old (SOB), but a big kid (hee hee).

Older people are also entitled to listen to R1.

I'm older than you, and I've never heard that one. Neither have my teenage children. And surely the use of "@" is an attempt to actually be, as you say, "down with" the "kids". But I am going to stop now, before this turns into a "viv bullying thread" and I find I am part of it. If you want to have a smash viv, you go ahead. Maybe lose the "@" though!

You could shift the words around a bit and it might work a bit better.

I was going to suggest "to have a stab at". But then Gaspode might end up doing something rather different from what he intended...

Sounds like a Richard Curtis movie, don't know which one though. Not that it matters, they're all the same. Notting Hill?

close - Blackadder Goes Forth.

George walks in all excited and says "tally-ho, pip pip and bernards your uncle"

Blackadder responds with a sarcastic "in english we say 'good morning'"

Why I know that, I have no idea.

Because Blackadder is one of the greatest series this country has produced and has some of the most memorable lines of any series, ever?

Ill accept that as a fair enough reason.

Its probably also coz I have the audio from the episode on the computer and I sometimes have it on in the background when im going to sleep. I probably know the whole thing off by heart without realising it!
