i think standing up makes you feel a little more lively, and you're more likely to be closer to the mic. when i reveiw new djs, i can usually tell who's sitting down based on their mic work.

A boss I once worked for obsessed about how the sales and support staff sat, and even experimented with standing bar-style counters for them.
He swore blind that how you sat / slouched / stood affected your voice and even your attitude on the phone. I have to admit, that I agree with him, you could hear it in their voices!
