Coca Cola and dry toast is my hangover cure, unless I have the energy to walk to McDonalds, and then it's McFlurrys.

There are only three things to cure a hangover... A fry up, Andrews Salts or (my personal favourite) more drink.

I suffer too much and can't face another drink if I'm hungover, is it not prolonging the pain?

No it soothes it - don't drink to excess with a hangover, just to soothe the pain. Otherwise yes you are prolonging the pain, but in theory you could go on prolonging the pain forever. I think that's what they call alcoholism.

Doesn't the 'Hair of the Dog' method just leave you with a longer, more painful hangover as you have a greater amount of ethanol in your system that your body needs to breakdown. All it does it stall it temporarily because your body is no longer getting rid of the ethanol in your system and is, instead, dealing with the new alcohol.
