Alex Ferguson is curious as to how Chelsea have become so dominant in English football, so he decides to go down to London to watch Chelsea train.
After a couple of hours he is extremely impressed by the training practice and asks Mourinho how he keeps the players so sharp.
"Well that is simple says Jose, I sometimes ask a player a difficult question and that way they stay mentally sharp".
"Could you give me an example?" asks Alex. "Of course" says Jose and calls over Maka. He asks "Maka, he is not your brother but still he is your father's son, who is he"? "That is not difficult" Maka answers immediately "of course that is me".
"You see, that is how to keep them sharp" Jose says with a wink to Fergie.
Alex decides to bring this into Manchester United's training regime, so the next day at the Manchester training ground he beckons Gary Neville over to him. "Gary I have a question for you" says Alex "he is not your brother, but still he is your fathers son, who is he"?
"Do what" replies Gary. Alex repeats himself once more. "I don't know boss, can I sleep on it and let you know tomorrow?" Fergie explains it is a continental coaching method and agrees to let Gary have one night to think about it.
Before going home Gary decides to put the the question to Ruud Van Nistelrooy, as he has played on the continent. "Ruud maybe you know the answer to this question, he is not your brother, but he is still your fathers son, who is he"?
"That is easy, that is me" replies Ruud.
"Thanks for that Ruud" says Gary and wanders off with a smile.
The next day in traning Gary walks up to his boss full of confidence. "I have an answer to your question boss, it was actually very easy when I thought about it" says Gary "the answer is Ruud Van Nistelrooy".
Ferguson explodes with rage "you stupid b**tard Gary, it's Claude Makelele"!!
