Serious post time! What's making me smile today? Well, a year ago my dad was diagnosed with a kidney tumour. Getting told that news was the single worst moment of my life, hands down. :(

Well, one year, a mad drive to the hospital and a major operation later...and he's still here! Obviously he's not as perfectly healthy as he once was, but he's doing great, symptom-free! :D

Sorry to get all serious on you!

English Bob, never was an apology so unnecessary. Shout about it. Laugh and dance and sing about it and I will laugh and dance and sing with you.

Don't put the hood up though otherwise you can almost feel people judging you. Also old people cross the road to avoid you.

Finally got my new laptop today, at bloody last, no more squinting at the internet on a bloody smart phone, and I can finally see websites as intended instead of the crappy mobile cut-down versions :)

Ok I'm no fan of his but Frankie Boyle has been having a slanging match with that douchey twonk James Arthur from the X Factor over the last day or so. He's saying all the things I want to say.

Is it expensive? Would it be suitable for an 8 year old? I would LOVE to take Baby Yudster.

DO IT. It's so, so, so good. They have the great hall, interviews with actors, thousands of props, different sets from all the films (including THE REAL GREAT HALL, which had Christmas dinner on as it's December) , tons of character costumes and so much more. One of the most stunning bits is the scaled down replica of Hogwarts which was used to film all of the sweeping shots. I would go back again. Lots of people of all ages were there.

It took us just over 3 hours, I think our tickets were £24/28. The gift shop is very expensive, but the cheaper things are worth it - and trust me, you might enjoy it more than baby Yuds (not that he won't enjoy it, more that you'll regress to a fan girl)

No regression needed - I am a total fan girl. I definitely prefer the books to the films, but the impact of the films is such that I read them (to Baby Yudster you understand...) with the actor's faces, voices and mannerisms in my head all the time. Love it all.
