Oh my goodness, I just ate a whole packet of Tescos Chocolate Chip Cookies. All of them. One after the other. I should be ashamed of myself. I AM ashamed of myself. I have a bad relationship with food....... 8O

I haven't actually - that would imply that I thought I had something interesting to say, and on the whole I don't think I do. And knowing me I'd probably say the wrong thing about the wrong person and end up getting sacked from my job or something. Apparently that is happening more and more!

Based on whats currently in this thread, I think its a pretty good question. Can't think what there is for you to be rude about at all. But I know why anyway.

If You do then you should be ashamed of yourself.

I am, I think I said that?! And no, not always - only in times of particular stress, and there is a lot of nastiness going on at the moment with the result that a lot of the time right now life sucks. Well, eating yummy stuff is pleasurable isn't it? Of course it is. So, it follows that eating TONS of yummy stuff is going to be really really pleasurable, and make me happy when I am miserable? Well, its a nice theory, but, as anyone who has a normal "relationship" with food will tell you, it doesn't work at all. But its a hard rut to get out of. I have been a strangely less inclined to binge since I posted this thread actually - I wonder if seeing it all written down and seeing other people's reactions to it has been helpful? You never know.

Don't worry Yudster there is a perfectly good anecdote to the situation you describe, Bulemia it's called, and it stops you putting on weight, only trouble is I think I must be a , what's that term for someone that forgets things all the time ? ??????????? well one of those bulemics in any event.
If you pig out on Fig Rolls though at least you get some rougage and approximately 2 of your 5 a day allowance.

Jaffa Cakes dunked in a cup of tea, then sucked till you only have the orange jelly bit on youn your tonque, and what ever happens you have to take it out and look at it, absolute bliss.
Also the fact your eating a cake, when in reality it's biscuit time means that those good people ar revenue and customs have not treated themselves to 17.5% of your grant money, sorry showing my age, your student loan money ! This is not the case with chock chip biscuits as they are standard rated I believe, but fig rolls are exempt from Tax, and pretty much a must have in the shopping basket.
Also Iced Gems, Wow, you can still get them, the joy in finding 3 or 4 fondant tops in the bottom of the bag with no biscuit, a joy I will take to my grave !

I never thought of my fledgling eating disorder in terms of VAT rateability before, thanks for that!

Have you ever had Chocolate Gems? Like Iced Gems only with a swirl of chocolate on top of the biscuit? My kids always used to eat all the tops and leave a bag full of slightly soggy biscuits lying around - even I didn't fancy those!

Does anyone remember Fox's Sunbreaks? Can't get those anymore, they were really lovely. Made your tongue sore if you ate too many though. Somehow it never seemed to stop me.......

I love eating so much but since I've joined my slimming class I've done so little of it. There are cakes in the kitchen at work today. I'm so tempted. I don't keep cakes in my house for that very reason. Does anyone else find it hard to eat well at work?

PS the fig roll comment makes sense now. Last week I totally pigged out on fig rolls at work and ended up running to the loo v frequently. I thought it was too much coffee.

i used to work in an office that had candy about for delivery men, professors, other staff, students, et. al. and it sucked. i couldn't stop eating it! now that i'm vegan, i can't eat too much junk at work, which is good, but my old director used to say that calories don't count at the office.

that said, yesterday somebody gave me a huge bag of skittles from the uk. i won't open the bag til i'm feeling particularly fat and lonely. like tonight.
