I know the chat room isn't popular, but just wondering if we should set a weekly time where we all go in - Thursday at around 7 - 9?

Do people still use it?

I really like using the chatroom, so I'd be up for it. The idea of setting a regular time keeps popping up, but not enough people really stick to it or confirm their interest which is a shame as it's alrite the times I have been in

I'm sure we can arrange more than one day for people to come into the chat room.

Thursday was just a random day.

I'd be up for it, providing there were a good numbers of regulars in there.

When it's full of idiotic newbies its just a waste of time trying to get any decent conversation going.

I do quite like the idea though of something like "The chrismoyles.net chat night" - especially if Aled (or whoever) was able to pop in from time to time to provide answers about the show.

As much as I would love to go into the chatroom and talk to a bunch of lol'ing people, I, unfortunately, don't have flash and therefore cannot enter.

Why don't you have flash? What happened to the IRC chatroom anyway, that was loads better.

Flash pisses me off on technical, aesthetical and philosophical levels, so I don't install it. IRC is generally a lot better, and it means you don't have to access it through the site, which is a plus.

I can understand on technical and aesthetical problems, but what particular philosophical problems do you have with it?

Well, the authoring tools cost a bundle, it's pretty much a closed format, and, as a webdeveloper, I don't like having to guess as to whether particular plugins are installed or not, and what versions they are (it's hard enough just pandering to IE's buggy rendering engine).

Ah right. Fair enough

I'm surprised nobody's developed a freeware flash authoring application. Would that be legal?

It is legal to create a authoring application, although as the file format has to be reverse engineered, and as the file format is probably licensed, there are many legal hurdles to jump. From memory there's a Flash authoring application being written in Java, although I'm not sure how far it's come along.

Chris H: could you ask Producer Rachel if she would be able to do a webchat?

Its obvious, Comedy Dave would rather go to the Denist, and well its unlikely Moyles will ever do it. Unless - he decides to turn up unannouned. However, I think people like Dom and Carrie would be interested in a webchat aswell.
