That's a reason I shouldn't go to bed leaving Radio 5 on, as I dreamt that last night....

It was only a matter of time when you saw some of the stunts he did.

RIP

http://www.b3ta.com is having a field day about this ...

Seriously though, its a shame - I enjoyed watching his programmes. Still, a good lesson we've all learnt - dont hang babies near crocs, and secondly - swimming with stingrays is not good for your health.

This is quite saddening, although it is quite wierd how it happened via a Stingray, especially as it said on This Morning that the last incident of this kind happened over 60 years ago and even then the stingray was cornered and defending itself, unlike what happened hear.

Rest In Peace Steve.

I've been to his Zoo, it's a shame.

They'll have to reprint all those T-Shirts they sell with him on.

All the reports I've seen state the stingray was probably startled.

What I meant was last time (from the impression I got) the stingray was specifically provoked, where as here even though it was startled it was unintentional and ironically could have happened to anyone

Hardly.
1.The baby wasn't hanged near the croc, it was safe in his arms.
2.The baby came to no harm and was in no danger as she was in the arms of a crocodile expert. Annoys when people bring up stuff like this on a day when the guys just died.

Similar sort of thing happened to me (although I was thinking Stingray from Neighbours). There is a quite amusing, if not a tad too early and disrespectful, picture about the Stingray tv show in relation to this. I won't post it here but it's easy enough to find today, it'll probably be e-mailed to you - if not already.

last case of this actually happening was 60 years ago, and even then the stingray was cornered and trying to protect itself.

Which it wasn't this time.

Demonhorse said earlier in this thread that it had been reported that it had been "agitated" though

yeah but with that kinda creature even swimming too close can "agitate" it.

its a shame it had to be in the chest, its usually know to get the legs or arms.
