Anyone here got Sky HD?

Just ordered it, but gotta wait 4 weeks for an installation date :(

If you have got it - what are the HD channels like? anything amazing I have to find when I get it? - or have I just wasted £300! 8O

I'm not over taken by HD. Yeah, it's impressive, but with the amount of telly I watch, there's just no way of justifying it. I've not even got Sky, and have no desire to get it. I have got a Freeview box, but I barely use that.

I had freeview but moved somewhere were I can't get it :( so had to be sky. So went mad and went for HD :D

Now just to finally decide on my new tv - anyone got a LG LCD? 32-38" size?

It's a noticeable difference, not just in the quality of the sharpness but the brightness also.

The World up games were a good watch, Wimbledon was noticeably better. BBC HD is starting to show more content, Jools Holland in Dolby 5.1 is great.

I would suggest getting it if you're particularly interested in Sport or Movies as there's not massive amounts of general watching content, though Discovery HD is cool to watch documentaries on.

I won't be getting it until it becomes standard. The price of HD tvs doesn't justify the amount of content and I think its a waste of money at the moment.

HD TVs are pretty much the same price or less than non-HD LCD / Plasma TVs. In fact you'll be hard pushed to find a large LCD TV that isn't HD now.

However if you're not in the market for a big flat TV or already have a non-HD big flat TV you're probably right in that it's not worth the upgrade, and also the HD packages from Sky are quite dear at the moment.

But as a first time flat TV buyer, it's no more expensive.

I'm happy with what ive got just now. Once HD isn't broadcast on a handfull of channels and the tvs become cheaper, then I may change my mind.

Sky HD being installed in September. Have an LG 42" HD Ready Box, and an LG DVD HDD Recorder, with 1000 watt Subwoofer.

Have Sky + at the moment - Box is crap and not workin so we're upgrading to HD.

Simple.

whats the general picture from sky like through your LCD? the analogue we have at the moment is a fair signal but looks shocking on the LCD (as expected) just hoping regular sky looks ok.

Regular Sky is Brilliant. It looks like this:

But in comparison to what? I have no idea what your tv used to look like, and a static pic hardly do TV's justice at the best of times is all I'm saying
