Two Cambridge University students who sent a hamster through the post for a joke have been fined.

David Jordan and James Cole, both 19 and Churchill College students, carried out the prank after getting drunk at a party, Ely magistrates heard.

Jordan, of Ely in Cambs, and Cole, of Marchwood, Southampton, both admitted abandoning a hamster in circumstances likely to cause suffering

They must be starting to take bribes there if they let someone like them in...

I clicked on the link and saw their faces. They look like a pair of idiots. Poor wee hamster.

I've got a hamster and its nearly 3 1/2 year old. The poor wee thing has lost most of its fur but its happy enough and the vet said its okay.

In seperate hamster story:

A rodent-eating snake and a hamster have developed an unusual bond at a zoo in the Japanese capital, Tokyo, the Associated Press news agency reports.

Their relationship began in October last year, when zookeepers presented the hamster to the snake as a meal.

The rat snake, however, refused to eat the rodent. The two now share a cage.

was it too hairy? i tried to feed a mouse to a snake once, but the snake waited too long and the mouse grew too much hair (it was a pinky), and they shared the jar for a week. then the cat broke the jar and ate them both.

I had a hamster, it died. My mum told me he was sleeping, she lied.
We buried him in a Pot Noodle packet.
If anyone wants any deeper insight into this story, the hamster in question was called Sirius.
