I think Franz Ferdinand are superb. Absolutely forget about the best of the 21st Century though, nowhere near. I even went to see them live and they were spot on. Both albums pretty good but not fantastic.
Coldplay excelled with Speed of Sound but in essence they are dull, as are Keane, Radiohead and the likes. Even Snow Patrol are getting into the wrist slitting area.

Still cant beat The Doors, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and the greats from that era. There is not 1 band out at the moment that in 20 years 18-20 year olds will be listening to and none of the bands now will even be around then. Different world now unfortunately.

I just hate that fey, whimsical, "oooh let him sing because he has an Irish accent and people love that and will buy it and think its good because its Irish" thing. Drives me up the wall.
