Yohanna is good - its a version of my name actually! But there is a Madison and two Cody's at my son's nursery school, and I know another Madison too. Nothing odd about those names!

if you name your child cody, they have a higher likelyhood of being trashy. at least that's the case in america.

There was, for want of a better word, this scally girl in the shops the other day, she must have been about 15 with a tiny kid in a push chair. She was telling someone that it was called Nevaeh (pronounced ne-vay-ah)...... is's "heaven" backwards.

She was also moaning because Nevaeh was hungry and she couldn't be ***ed to go to the chippy.

People should be IQ tested before being aloud to reproduce..... get below the avearage and get neutered there and then.

After that why don't we make deport everyone with a different skin colour to ours and make sure those who don't believe in the same religion as us suffer a horrible fate

Because they don't irritate me, and that's just racist. (not sure how you make deport someone though)

The point is they are both fundamentally wrong and lead down the road to Nazi-ism. But still, if they irritate you...

By the way, before anyone points it out I will... I do see the irony in my poor spelling whilst dissing people with low IQ... the fact is, it's Friday afternoon... I'm still hung over like a mother hubbard and I want to go home.

Hmmm. Where I live there are a lot of what you might politely call Disadvantaged "Families". That would be the polite name - the truthful thing to call them would be total incompetents. Now ok, I know they aren't ALL like that - but when you have seen the plight of some of their kids, and especially if you have children yourself (makes it all so much more real), you really can have some sympathy to the view that there really are some people who simply shouldn't be allowed to have children, they aren't capable of looking after themselves, let alone a child. There is legislation in place to disallow incompetent people from owning dogs, to prevent cruelty to the animal. But there is nothing to say they can't have babies - and they are often no more capable of being parents than they are of anything else. A couple of weeks ago a two year old baby was found wandering down the road near where I live with just a t shirt on, no nappy or anything, at 2am. The poor little lad's "mother" finally realised he was missing at about ten o clock the next morning - when she got her head out of the toilet from throwing up the previous night's vodka and dope, and noticed his cot was empty.

So Bag_of_Balls I see your point, clearly and precisely - but fish heads, you are right - how do you draw that line, let alone where? Poor little baby...........

Maddie is lovely, really nice. My daughter is Louisa, I like that too. If my youngest (who is now 2) had been a girl, I wanted to call her Angelina, so she could be known as Lina which for some reason I liked. But I had a boy, who is called Joel.

I've got a friend who's just named his daughter Keira. Which I can agree is a lovely name. But everytime he introduces her the response will be "oh... after Keira Knightly"

In sumation you have to be careful what name you chose at the time of chosing, you may like the name, but think of the relavance to the wider world......that's what I tried to tell my friend who recently gave birth to their son..... Osama Roberts...... he didn't listen.
