oh no not the super ted outfit
Dave's Introductory service was mainly played on the Saturday show but did sometimes creep into the afternoon show for a link, normally when Jon Culshaw was in.
Basically a caller played against dave & choose a year between 1980-1999 (the Now that's What I call Music Millenium or Anniversary series although they did sometimes use the standard Now series), Chris would then choose a track & start to play it, whoever shouted their name first got to guess first, if they guessed correctly the point was awarded to them, if not that the other person got a go, if they got it right they got the point, if not they had another go.
Depending on how quick the game was going depended on how many you needed to get right (normally most from 5 or 10 songs). If Chris liked the caller he would ignore Dave when he shouted his name, especially if the caller was losing.
The prize was a Mini Disc player, although whether they got the prize or not is another thing (I think Chris may have joked once that they shoudl actually give some of them away)
Great game that would fit well in the show
Regards, Johnny 1989
