Miss Aqua enjoy your salmon. I reckon it's best poached shivering temptingly under a tasty sauce.

Saveloy leads towards an inevitable unpleasent conclusion. Mushy peas with chips, on the other hand, are something pretty special.

I don't get mushy peas. I'm just too southern.

Thats purely in the mind of southeners. I'm actually from Brighton, but I've found Birmingham has opened my mind with regards to mushy peas.

Cheese is good with chips in the pub, accompanied by a nice pint of cider.

Its not so much the peas themselves, the flavour is good and I like the idea of using the older, robust peas which fashionable cuisine would reject - its all the goopy sludge that goes with them I can't connect with.

Just thing of it as something more appetizing than goopy sludge and it goes down fine then.

If I have to pretend that the goopy sludge on my plate is something more appetizing, then I think its time to send the plate back and order something that truly IS appetizing!

the salmon was lovely with spring onions, yellow pepper and a ginger sauce... i think it lacked a bit of umfph... so next time i shall add some chillis

Mozarella is ok. An ex colleague of mine used to throw up if she had too much cheese. She was ok with dairy as such, it was just cheese. Pizza was a bit of a trial for her, I remember.
