Its a valid question though. One of my best friends was, until recently, a regular poster on there, she had fun there, dropped in here and ran off screaming. I was the other way around. Don't really know why, she and I have a fair bit in common (and I don't charge to babysit!) and often enjoy the same things, but she doesn't like this site and I don't like UM. Go figure.

I'm going to try and stay neutral here, I listen to and like Moyles and Mills equally, and am quite new to this whole fansite forum thing (have also just registered on Unofficial Mills). I've had a nosy round both the sites, and they are equally good.

What I don't understand, OP, is why you are launching an attack on Jono off of UM. All he is done is go along to a Radio 1 based event and try to get some publicity for his site (and done very well at that). Just because he has a fansite for Scott Mills doesn't mean he can't like Moyles and go to any events involving just him. Judging from the posts of his I have read he is not just a Mills fan, but a Radio 1 fan.

Another thing I really do not understand is the near hatred between the two sites (and, trying to stay neutral, it seems to be coming mainly from you guys). You are both equally friendly and funny (from what I have read) so I don't understand what's going on between you lot, Chris and Scott are friends and co-exist just fine, so why aren't you lot?

I know I'm probably going to get shot down for saying this, but reading this thread made me feel quite annoyed for the guys over on UM, Jono especially, and I felt I should give my two pennies worth. It's all very fair and well disagreeing with something someone has done, but calling them a tw*t for doing something that hasn't actually affected you just doesn't seem right.

I know that some of you don't like the way UM "whore" themselves, but they are very successful and well known throughout Radio 1 and some are even on first name terms with the Scott Mills team, the so-called "whoring" could just be the key to their success.

I'm sorry if I've missed out on something, but this is just an opinion from an outsider, and I do realise that there's lots I don't understand.

I'm not fully aware of it myself, but I know that there is a lot of history between the two sites members', but, they (UM) do give as good as they get and they are hardly blameless in the rivalry between the two sites. I say rivalry, I'm not entirely sure that's the correct word, but it's a close enough approximation to work.

why is being mentioned on the show being successful? One of the problems is when this site is mentioned it becomes over-run with morons. Also I am troubled by any site that doesn't accept criticism of the show it would be a bit sad if this site went that way.

Well a lot more publicity is brought to the site everytime it's mentioned, meaning new members and more page hits. I see a few thousand unique visitors each month as a sign of success (sure, a few of them are idiots, but there don't seem to be too many idiots that stick around). Maybe you don't.

I suppose it depends what you want. Personally I couldn't care less how many people come here but I guess Mr Harris wants as many as possible to enjoy it. I don't think he has Jono's ego though.

I think there is a period of initiation to this board that some people get through and some dont. The ones that stick around tend to be decent people. Apart from Sidders.
