Once again, in the magnificent R1's 2nd week of legends, Noel Gallacher proved to be a very interesting legend, with a fascinating choice of musical tastes, including a band called "Pretty Things" (1967); "The Left Bank" (1967); The Who; Cher (would never have had him down as a Cher fan, I must say!! Edith Bowman commented on this too yesterday afternoon).

Interesting to hear of Mr Gallagher's first visit to R1, when he ran into Jo Whiley wearing Doc Martens, full marks for acknowledging how good R1 have been for OASIS, and interesting to hear how he got to football matches thanks to cuddly Moyles!!

He ended the slot with Kasabian and Elvis' "Blue Moon" (lovely!!).

Noel always comes across as a very intelligent funny bloke. Not many pop/rock stars manage it.

I thought that too! The thing that really pleased me was his acknowledgement of how much R1 had helped OASIS. So few people bother to turn round and thank the people who actually play their records; boost their profile, etc., etc.
