I have hundreds of old cassettes from around 2003 - will get round to converting them one day!

Just wanted to make sure you all know about the following links:

http://www.c4h10o.co.uk/chrismoyles/

http://www.radiowaves.fm/audio/ChrisMoyles_Summer98.ram

http://www.radiowaves.fm/audio/ChrisMoy ... mber98.ram

Top link has four old Moyles shows from 97/98 on it, including Breakfast Show cover for Zoe & Kevin. The rest is highlights of Chris and the team filling in on Breakfast in 1998 - its all just unbelievably brilliant...

Sorry to drag this particular post back up, but did anyone work out how to download the two radiowaves files from 1998, they opened as realplayer files, but unfortunately my PC hates realplayer (it plays everything broken up & jumps a lot)

Any help greatly appreciated, be nice to be able to rip these as MP3 files

If you have it that would be amazing! Thanks for your hard work.

Ooh, I'm not sure, when roughly does that dat eback to (I don't need a date more a year, if it's 2001 then there's a good chance I have, however if 2002-4 or 2007 then probably not unfortunately, although you now mentioning it I do remember them doing that, although can't remember if I taped it or not & can't remember roughly what year either :?

Thank you, TIAL, JamieC21 & DC have all done a lot of the hard work as well, so I can't take all the credit, in fact TIAL probably deserve the most as he's edited most of these :D

No problem, I took me ages to upload on zShare, rapidshare didn't even want to know yesterday. Whenever it's ready I'll add it to the front page :D

.ram files are actually shortcuts for the real Real Player files, the links are as follows. If you can download the iPlayer files of the new shows, then you should be able to download these, give me a shout if you can't as I'll have them filed away somewhere.

Fantastic stuff Jamie, I shall give that a try tonight & will let you know. If it works I'll try & convert them to an MP3 & put them in a new section at the top.

Anyone got any ideas of a name we could give this, Moyles Magic Moments perhaps? Maybe not

LATEST UPDATE:

At last, after months of promising, The Last EVER Saturday Show has finally been added to the Archive. With special thanks to TIAL for taking the time to edit this.

The file has been added to the first page.

For those of you who aren't familiar with the Saturday Show I shall give you a brief description:

The Saturday show ran from Saturday 25th April 1998-Saturday 15th September 2001 and was a very different show to the Afternoon show in many ways. For a start the style of the show was very different indeed, whereas the Afternoon show was Chris with the rest of the team chipping in the Saturday show was mainly Chris & Dave having a very random chat on air with the BA & Producer appearing off mic at random points during the show. From the period I listened to (2000-2001) the Saturday Show's line up was Chris, Dave, Producer Richard (who never spoke on air but waved to the mic ) and Rachel (who later became the show producer) although there were quite a few others who had appeared on the show that had also appeared on the afternoon show (Including "Mad" Mick Meadows & Simon "Melinda" Hollis). Not only that for some strange reason there was never any Saturday Show jingles, they were just the standard Radio 1 jingles for some strange reason.

The features were also mostly unique to the Saturday Show and included:

Girls Going To Football - You had to be a fan (and not a man). Basically women would phone into the show, tell Chris & Dave which Football game they were going to see & Dave would predict (mostly unsuccessfully) the result for the game, if a team was playing Everton or Leeds the opposition to each of those teams would always be predicted to be the loosing team (so not a biased feature at all)

Hello, I'm Listening - Chris would phone up a friend of either himself, Dave, Rachel & whoever was the producer on that particular show, and the person answering the phone would have to answer "Hello, I'm Listening", half the time it didn't work but was funny to listen to at least, especially when every caller failed in saying the magic words

Who's In The Dog House - Male audience members (from what I can recall there was never a female caller on this feature) phoned up to tell Chris & Dave why they were in the dog house (mainly due to drinking the night before) and Chris & Dave would generally take the piss out of the caller

May Divorce Be With You - Very bizarre feature where newlyweds or people who were soon to be married would call up & Dave would predict how long the marriage would last.

Unfortunately I only have a handful of these on tape & the rest are only the first half but this will at least hopefully give you an idea of how different the Saturday Shows were.

Hope you ladies & gents enjoy it & just to let you know there will be more shows on their way soon. :D

Thanks for the info. I think it may be best to leave these as they are to be honest seeing as the Website still exists. I'll put those links you sent me in an "external links" tab on the first page later tonight :D

Are they really going to be bothered - those links must be half a decade old at least (my info files on those date from 2005)?

Anyway, in other news I can't find those 2003 shows I was on about. Maybe I never taped them after all and my memory is playing tricks on me. Shite news in any case.

They probably won't actually  I'll have a go this weekend.

Shame to hear about the 2003 shows, hopefully you do have them but they're just misplaced at present. I have actually recorded my only other 2003 show (Wednesday 28th May 2003) tonight & I'll be honest, it's a lot better than I thought it was, of the first hour I listened to I found it to be very funny. Expect to see this one appear soon :D

Hi guys, just listening back to the last ever Saturday show, where they announce at the beginning that they're going to do the usual show in spite of the events of the previous week etc.

Does anyone have by any chance a recording of the show on September 11th itself? I'm not trying to be morbid, but it would be very interesting to hear how they handled that kind of event, as the news would presumably have been coming in as they were on-air... Or did they bin the show altogether and just broadcast the news?

I don't have it but I do remember. It (and the subsequent shows up to that Saturday show) was extremely sombre and fitted the mood of everyone really. They did a fantastic job of keeping everything sensitive to fit the events that had happened.

a few years ago i found some archive posts on this forum that were made on the day, i recall one or two members saying that they had recorded moyles from that afternoon but i don't think they post here anymore.
i do remember some of the last half an hour of mark & lard's show from that afternoon, they just played music as i recall and led into newsbeat when they were told to. i didn't hear much of chris' show becuase i was back home watching the tv just after 3pm. but i do remember listening in at some point and i think chris was talking to american joe who was in new york at the time, asking about the attacks and what he could see.
as far as i remember, the rest of the week was sombre for moyles and mark radcliffe. there wasn't much if anything to hear from comedy dave or lard when i tuned in. considering how bad the events were and how unexpected, moyles, radcliffe and radio 1 in general handled it very professionally.

i posted these newsbeat editions a few years ago on here but i think the original links to the radio 1 pages that they were on are long gone. so i've converted them to mp3 and uploaded them to the internet archive.
