Oh dear, it’s all going wrong for Nemone. It’s her last Thursday show today, and last show on Radio 1 ever tomorrow. So she hand’s over to Chris, informing him of that bit of information. For once though Chris is lost for words. Not because he doesn’t have any, but because Nemone can’t feed them through on air properly which leads to her having a conversation with him, but we as listeners can only hear one side of it – if you follow me. It was mightily confusing anyway.

She did find Chris & co. eventually though – but they did the hilarious trick of not speaking at first to make Nemone think it wasn’t working. Those cheeky chappies. As a little treat, they extended Nemone’s last Thursday show, but only by 5 minutes and Chris hogged most of it anyway, the sweetheart that he is. Chris wanted to know who Nemone wanted to surprise her as a guest on her last ever show tomorrow. She said Jack from Lost, but Chris said that he has Kevin Greening’s phone number if by some chance Jack wouldn’t be able to make it.

Chris is scared of the dark

One of the studios next door, (Studio 3 I think, where the team used to do all of last year’s shows from if you are that much of a geek) is being renovated at the moment to make it all shiny, nice and new. That means that at the moment it is in complete darkness. A fun feature would be to go into the darkness, but since Aled the team’s usual choice of scaredy cat wasn’t in at this point, Chris decided to use his phone and venture into the blackened studio himself.

The little lights that were surrounding the place quickly turned themselves off – Chris thought that it might have been Dom doing this. I have to agree as well, Dom probably did it as punishment for that crap egg related nickname invented earlier in the show. A couple of girly screams later, Chris revealed that he wasn’t alone in the room.

Dave: Come back now
Chris: But there is something else in here with me…
Dave: Are you sure you don’t want to come back now?
Chris: [Screams]…It’s Yvette Fielding

New Feature Name Game

As the show is coming up to another break next week, the team are going to have a couple of brainstorming sessions to come up with a few new features for the show and to keep it fresh and the like. The thinking behind this is to make sure that we don’t end up with any more stinkers on the show like Secret Student or, heaven forbid, another whattity what.

The team figure that the best way to find out what we want is to ask us – makes sense really doesn’t it. So another text-a-thon began, as people text in names of features that they wanted to see – you didn’t have to explain how it worked or anything, just the name and Dave and Chris would work on it from there. This is how the legendry features “Dizzy Lizzie” and “Fire at Will” began on the afternoon shows. Some of the early suggestions today included “Slap Head”, “Mince with Moyles”, “Celebrity Botty Burp”, “Suck it and See”, “Con Dom” and the legendry suggestion “King of Tickets”. That last one sounds like it could work.

Other great suggestions included “Keepy-uppies with the Joneses”, “These are the Daves of our lives”, “Cash & Carrie”, “Bomb Dom”, “Carrie-er bag”, “Radio Rodio” (which Chris likes the sound of), “Munter Hunter”, “Bathroom Bullseye”, “Chris-tal Maze”, “Chris-Mass” (Chris doing sermons on air), “Floss Joss” and the less catchy “Chris streaks through Harrods”.

Other Stuff on Today’s Show

(*) Chris has a new nickname for Dom – Egghead. Well done Chris, only took you 20 months to think of that. Dom also tried to change Carrie’s sport script recently to try and include types of fish. He really loves Mackerel that one.

(*) Kanye West is smaller than Chris thought he would be. He also dresses like Carlton from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air

(*) Dom saw a “celebrity” at Radio 1 yesterday, but couldn’t place their face to a name. Chris knew who it defiantly was though – it was someone from Babestation, who recorded a little message for Dom – who consequently tried to back-peddle claiming he only thought she was famous because she looked the part with an expensive coat etc. Yeah right.

(*) A couple of Guess Who’s today. The first one was Jimmy Floyd Hasslebank and the second one was Lemar. Excitement.

(*) Will Young is on the show on Monday, it was revealed today. Will keeps saying he’ll take Chris to lunch, but he never does. What a bloody liar. In fact he probably wont even turn up on Monday.

(*) The guys played with the Little Britain dolls. It was a bit of a dull link – they are all over the papers at the moment anyway, if you want to look at them.

Mini-Moyles Update

Chris has finally got his car fixed and his attempts at cleaning were a success. In other Chris news, he was going for lunch with Will Young today but it was cancelled so hell probably play X-Box instead.
Dave will be buying a tax disc for his car. Dom will be looking after his son whos still a bit snotty. Carries boyfriend is back from Japan, Rachels off to a gig and Aled will be trying out his new washing machine.
