Better late than never :) Chris started the show by talking about last night EastEnders, in which Phil got shot. He did a number of spoof phone calls to fit in the Hello, who's there dialogue from EastEnders. One was Chris playing his Lizzie Hiya sound effects, the other was a Who Wants to be a Millionnaire Phone-a-Friend and the last was a 'Wazzup'. As usual, you could see all of them coming like a big comedy train in the distance. Listeners were then asked to ring up the show with their EastEnders impression which was not very funny. Moyles then anounced the world's first Webcam joke - How do Polar Bears hide? Cover It's nose, the joke was displayed on the webcam and later revealed on the show. The only problem was the joke wasn't funny.
They did another unfunny webcam joke - Whats red and invisible? No Tomatoes, what do you call a fish with no eyes? Fsh.. Then it was The Great Receptionist Stopwatch Challenge, this time Dave phoned up a conservatry company and asked for an appointment, when sound effects of doorbells and mobile phone rings were played. Dave then answered the mobile phone and door, while the receptionist was on hold for 15 minutes. Chris said that he'd read that eating fatty foods cause memory loss.
Tomorrow is Lizzie's birthday, and since she doesn't produce the Saturday show - they had celebrations today. Chris gave her a cake which they got free from ThomasCook.comm, and pretended it was a birthday cake, Dave gave her some mushroom soup and Will gave her insense sticks. Moyles said he wanted a car, preferably a 2nd hand convertable for under £3,000. Will told him that you wouldn't get a windscreen wiper for that, and Dave told him that Moyles can buy his car for £2,500.
Tong came into the studio and talked about the Plump DJs, then Moyles did a freestyle rap and told Tong that he should have Moyles and Dave on his show. John Culshaw then spoke about his meeting with Prince Charles last night to celebrate an Anniversery of The Archers. Throughout the show Chris has appealed for a guest for tomorrow's show. When John Culshaw nicked one of John Thompson's (Cold Feet) jokes, Moyles told him to ring him up and apologise and ask him whether he would be on tomorrow's show. Chris said that he'd read that eating fatty foods cause memory loss.
The show today was pretty mediocre, not very funny for a Friday show - pretty crap overall.
